Hey,

Just a quick update. The Thompson House now has a Myspace page. The blogs and specials will be posted there and here, so you won’t miss out on them. The Myspace page will have more pictures and possibly videos from various weeks. Don’t forget to add us as friends!

Hey! It has been a long time since I've written an entry.  I'm sure you’re bored to tears with Kurt news.  Just kidding Kurt!

Summer has been awesome, I love seeing all those familiar faces!  I've seen a few new ones, which is great!

I have to confess, my life is quite boring, so I have to ask a favor of all of you; our fantastic guests, please e-mail me your favorite or funniest Thompson House story and I'll get Kurt to post them on the blog.  Please, I know you all want to.

Hello everyone,
Summer time has come once again and it’s been nice and warm here there is always a nice breeze under the Pine trees.  Everyone is getting ready for our summer season.  The sun is nice and hot, and the pool is the perfect temperature to escape the heat of the day.  Everything else has been going well.  All of us have been enjoying getting back into the swing of things, whether it is the breakfast, morning games, afternoon games, dinner, or the nightly entertainment.
We have a few new employees around the property, but the one everyone will probably meet is Andrea, our new activities director.  We know last season everyone loved Anette, but trust me you'll like Andrea.  He seems to be picking up on all the games well.
The 4th of July is right around the corner and we can't wait.  We've started making our float, and we're hoping that it is another winner.  If you want to know what our theme is this year, you're going to have to come up and join us for the parade.  Unless the weather says otherwise there is always a parade; and for our guests, we have hot dogs, watermelon, chips, and soda, with a nice view of the fireworks.  It is always a great time here at The Thompson House, and the 4th is no exception.  Come up to the mountains – we would love to have you spend the 4th with us.

Hello everyone.  Opening day has come and gone and everything went smoothly.  It was great to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones.  We had a new family reunion of over 100 people here at The Thompson House.  It is the largest family I remember.  My mom was pretty panicked to make sure we had enough staff to accommodate everyone, but everything turned out fine.  Everyone really seemed to enjoy Mr. Twisty in the dining room and Chad Currin at night.  We received a lot of great compliments on how much everyone enjoyed their stay at The Thompson House.  The pool was open for everyone to swim in and escape the warm days.  The new software had a minor break down for a few days, but we have everything strained out (I hope).  I still really like the new software, but everyone else is still adjusting to it. I guess it helps that I’ve been working with it since the beginning of the year.  They’ll get use to it eventually, not that they have a choice.

Thank you Muldowney Family for Choosing The Thompson House for your family reunion, and letting us use your picture. We look forward to seeing you in 2009!

June 7, 2008

We just had our Priests on Retreat group here this week.  It was nice to see some new priests, as well as the ones we’ve seen the past few years.   It was been one non-stop spring so far here at The Thompson House.  My dad has kept me busy working on different projects around the property. This is the first chance I’ve had to write a blog and keep everyone up to date.  I hope to be able to write more this year than last.  I don’t work in the office as much as I use to, and writing a blog without a computer is pretty difficult.  I shall do my best to keep everyone informed on the activities here.

Hey Everyone,

It’s been a while since we’ve posted one of these. I hope everyone had a good and healthy winter.

We’re getting ready for the 2008 season now and everything is going well. There have been many small construction jobs going on since we closed in October. Our newest thing this year however, is our new reservation system. I’ve been working on this since January, trying to find the program that would work best for us and what we need, yet one that was still simple enough my parents could use it. Well at the beginning of April one was finally chosen. It took a couple of days to get everything set up, and we have a lot of information transferred, but there is still a lot to do.

If you have sent you’re deposit for your stay in 2008, don’t worry if you haven’t received a confirmation yet. We’re getting all the reservations into the new system and should have the confirmations going out shortly. The new confirmations are going to look different, but I think they are much better.

I hope to see everyone soon. We open May 23rd, so mark your calendar.

~Kurt~
